Shonen Knife / Kepi Ghoulie / JEFF the brotherhood – 11/18/09
Caught a really rad show at Mohawk Place the other night. Shonen Knife, my favorite 28-year-old Osaka pop-punk band, along with Kepi Ghoulie and JEFF the brotherhood. Kepi (and his old group, Groovie Ghoulies) has always been a favorite of mine, and JTB were pretty great, too. The new lights at Mohawk made this a rather fun show to shoot and the sound was amazing. Okay, the pics:
If you want to step back in time, you can check out photos from the last time Shonen Knife and Kepi were in town. Kepi has a new cd out, too, with a bangin’ new version of “Bye Bye Brain” and a Daniel Johnston cover.
Art Brut – June 6, 2009 – Philly
Between shows on the NINJA tour, I caught one of my favorite new groups, Art Brut, at a small club in the East side of Philadelphia. Click the above link or right here for a few photos. An interview will be posted, um, shortly. MusicSnobbery.com has a neat little review right here.
Street Sweeper Social Club – June 7, 2009 – Jones Beach
This is the first in the bunch of a whole lot of shows being added to the site. Click the above image of guitar-god/annoying-activist-guy Tom Morello for photos of their June 7 show at Jones Beach, New York. Or just click here.
